Georgia College

• Georgia College's Mass Communication B.A. Degree Program is divided into four concentration areas, one of which is Broadcast and Electronic Media. The Broadcast and Electronic Media oncentration grooms students for careers as news anchors and reporters as well as in production and other media areas. Some of the courses required include principles of broadcast and electronic media, audio theory and practice, video theory and practice and newscast production.

• Georgia State's BA in Journalism, emphasizes the acquisition of skills essential to the gathering of information as well as the face-to-face communication of it. The curriculum is broad and includes coursework in reporting, editorial, critical writing, and political communication. GSU awards journalism students who qualify with internships with the leading media organizations in and around Atlanta.
  
  

University of Georgia

• The University of Georgia's BA in Broadcast News was created to prepare students for careers in radio and television. A survey taken by the university's career center shows that UGA broadcast news graduates have gotten jobs as reporters, producers and production assistants with leading media organizations in the Atlanta area. Their student-run newscasts can be seen on the university-owned television station, WNEG, when school is in session.
  
  

Kennesaw State University

• The BS in Communication at Kennesaw State University offers a concentration in media studies that strives to make its students literate in writing, media and technology. The array of coursework required includes news reporting, writing and photojournalism. For communications students who prefer to put greater emphasis on production, they also offer a concentration in citizen journalism. KSU even has a concentration in public relations for those communications majors who want to hone their networking and crisis management skills.
