How to Make Painted Concrete Floors Shine
- 1). Vacuum the concrete surface with the vacuum cleaner and the brush attachment. Use the attachment to remove dust and dirt from all corners.
- 2). Pour the urethane sealer into the paint tray. You will require approximately 1 gallon of urethane for every 275 to 300 square feet of concrete flooring.
- 3). Cut in the outer perimeter of the concrete floor, applying the urethane to the perimeter of the floor with the angled brush.
- 4). Attach the extension handle to the paint roller to enable easier application. Dip the roller into the urethane in the paint tray to coat the roller evenly.
- 5). Brush the roller onto the concrete floor in the corner farthest from the exit door. Apply the urethane in a thin and even layer over the floor. Apply the urethane to the entire floor surface as quickly as possible before it begins to dry.
- 6). Allow the urethane to dry completely for the time recommended on the product label.
- 7). Apply a second coat of urethane to the concrete floor, using the same method you used to apply the first coat.
