Building Wine Storage Racks
- 1). Set up the four 24-inch side boards in a square with equal sides, so that each board butts against the previous board. Predrill three evenly spaced holes through each joint so that the holes enter the side of one board and continue into the end of the next. Use a drill bit that is slightly smaller than the dimensions of the wood screws. Attach the boards with wood screws.
- 2). Measure the two 34-inch boards and mark them directly in the center. Use a hand-held saw or table saw to cut out a 1/2-inch wide groove that goes half the width of each board. Fit the boards together so that the grooves match up and the boards nestle inside each other. If they do not, remove additional wood from the grooves until the fit is snug.
- 3). Set the X-shaped wood section inside the previously made square. If the interior section does not fit within the frame of the wooden square, trim some wood from the edges of the boards using sandpaper or a saw.
- 4). Predrill two holes in each corner to attach the X-shaped support to the frame. Attach using wood screws. Sand all rough edges using sandpaper.
