How to Improve Tire Performance
- 1). Check your tire pressure at least once per week. The recommended tire pressure on each vehicle is located on a sticker inside the driver's door jamb. The sticker will tell you the recommended tire pressure for both front and rear tires. Maintaining the tire pressure at the recommended amount will help ensure even wear on your tires.
- 2). Align the wheels of the vehicle at least once every six months. We put many miles on our vehicles and suspension. These miles can cause the alignment of the wheels to go out. Aligning the wheels will ensure that your car drives straight and does not wear the tires unevenly.
- 3). Load the vehicle only with the recommended weight on the driver's door jam placard. Each vehicle has a maximum amount of weight it is supposed to carry. Exceeding this weight will cause unnecessary tire wear.
- 4). Drive slower around bends and turns. When our vehicle leans into a turn, it puts extreme pressure on the outside of the tires. Sharp turning and quick turning can lead to premature tire replacement.
