Buying Gold For World of Warcraft - Should I Do it?

11
I am stuck somewhere between the two camps on this one most of me dislikes the practice of buying gold.
I pay my subscription and don't expect to have to spend any more money on playing - but after you get sucked into the world - it isn't long before you are contemplating buying gold for world of warcraft.
The issue is that there are some great things in warcraft but in order to keep you playing a game the developers usually keep you by levelling and introducing aspects of the game that take you a long time to achieve - whether it's levels, equipment or gold.
In World of Warcraft it is generally more gaining gold which is the most time consuming aspect of the game.
The very big problem with this - is the game suddenly gets reduced to a repetitive tedium as you repeat the same action over and over again to try and gain enough money.
Now I think we all appreciate why Blizzard use this approach - it's used by virtually every online game I have ever played to some extent although outside the fantasy arena - the online wargame - World War II online is a notable exception.
They realise that if you invest hundreds of real hours in a character it is much more difficult to walk away and try something new - so the grinding goes on.
This is where I have sympathy with the people who buy gold - they love world of warcraft but they find grinding for gold tedious - for those of us with jobs this ends up taking up our whole playing time.
I've just thought of a great idea - servers for grown ups with jobs, commitments and separate ones for kids who have loads of free hours !But seriously the game you play for relaxing gradually becomes an online chore with occasional good bits when you get to do something exciting.
So what's the solution - well you could take the risk and buy gold from one of the many online merchants - many of them are legitimate companies.
The problems though are numerous - the most obvious one is that Blizzard can spot these transactions (many of the big gold sellers are tracked anyway)and you can get banned or your account deleted - no Blizzard are not afraid of doing this and frequently do.
Also many of the supposedly legitimate gold sellers are using hacked accounts and stealing for their gold supplies - also doing the same to their customers.
To be honest the numerous risks and problems with using these services is not worth it for me personally - I know I'd be one of the lucky ones who gets my account deleted with the 5000 gold newly purchased still in my account!
