Have you been on #royalbabywatch alongside the rest of the world this past week?

Yeah, you're definitely not alone. As a longtime fan of the royals (read: major crush on Prince William during my high school days), I've been fascinated by the tragic beauty of Princess Diana, the alluring glamour of Duchess Kate, and the adorable relationship that kept us all guessing with Prince William.

And now, of course, I'm all about the royal baby.

Here are a few fun facts to know about the new princess:

1. She was delivered by midwives.

As is customary for most births in England, the new Princess was delivered by midwives (the same midwives who delivered Prince George), not a doctor, although many doctors and specialists were on watchful standby, just in case. Can you imagine the level of responsibility delivering the potential future Queen? 

2. The Duchess delivered her naturally.

According to reports, Kate Middleton delivered the royal baby without an epidural, which may explain why she looked so darn flawless only hours after birth. 

3. Her name has double meanings. 

Officially crowned Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, the new royal baby's name pays tribute to both sides of her family. Charlotte happens to be the female form of "Charles," which is, of course, Prince William's father's name as well as Kate's sister Pippa's middle name. The late Princess Diana's niece is also named Charlotte. 

Elizabeth, obviously is the name of the current Queen of England, Queen Elizabeth, but it also happens to be Kate's middle name, her mother's middle name, and a name shared by many members of her maternal family.

 

4. Her royal namesake was beloved. 

The last Princess Charlotte, who died during childbirth in 1817, was beloved during her reign. The outpouring of public grief to the princess's passing has been compared to the throngs of mourners after Princess Diana's death. 

5. Her official title would be a mouthful. 

If she would be crowned someday, Princess Charlotte's title will be a mouthful indeed: "Her Majesty Charlotte the first, by the Grace of God of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and of Her other Realms and Territories Queen, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Fait," according to CNN. 

6. The princess is fourth in line to the throne. 

?Shockingly, that doesn't really sound that far away, does it? The line of succession goes like this: Prince Charles, Prince William, Prince George (her big brother) and then, Charlotte. 

7. Her birth is a boost to the economy. 

Tourisim to the birthplace of the Princess has spiked in the past year alone and sales are only expected to keep increasing. Heck, she even has her own coffee mug!

8. Her mother's labor was surprisingly short. 

After being almost a week overdue, the Duchess reportedly went into labor around 6 AM and delivered Princess Charlotte at 8:34 AM. That's just a little over 2 hours of labor. 

9. She went home within 8 hours. 

A mere 8 hours after she was born, Princess Charlotte departed the hospital with her parents a little after 6 PM. 

10. She was greeted with an afternoon tea service. 

At the Lindo Wing of St. Mary's Hospital, where the princess was born, it is customary for new mothers to celebrate their baby's birth with a charming afternoon tea service. Crumpets, anyone?
