How to Drop in on a Skateboard Ramp

9
  • 1). Learn to roll up and down on a ramp to get the feeling of going down a curved object.

Place the tail of the board on the coping of the ramp so the rear wheels are inside the ramp and only the tail is on the deck.

  • 3). Have your back foot on the tail in riding position.

Step onto the board with your front foot without transferring your weight onto the front of the board yet. Place it in normal riding position as well. You will feel like you are on a diving board at this point.

  • 5). Transfer your weight onto the front of the board so you are equally balanced on both ends of the board.

  • 6

Lean in and push with your front foot so the board drops down and all four wheels are on the surface of the ramp. Do this quickly, but without slamming the front of the board down.

  • 7). Roll with the curve of the ramp, and keep your body centered over the board. Do not lean forward or back, or you will fall whichever way you're leaning.

  • 8). Stand up when you have made it to the flat of the transition.
