49
    • 1). Loosen the lug nuts on your front wheels. Raise the front of your vehicle using a hydraulic jack and put jack stands up under the front-jack points. Lower your vehicle slowly with the hydraulic jack until it comes to rest on the jack stands.

    • 2). Remove the front wheel and tire. Remove the bracket for the front brake line. Remove the bottom strut bolts and then the top strut bolts. Remove the bolts from the top of the strut tower, located under the hood and above the wheel well. Hold the strut assembly as you take out the bolts so that it does not drop down.

    • 3). Install the strut bar by placing it in the engine compartment and bolting it with the bolts that were at the top of the strut tower. Put in the new coilover unit where the strut assembly was by reversing the procedure used to remove. Remember, this time the strut bar will be under the bolts at the top of the strut assembly. Reattach the bracket for the front brake line. Put the wheel back on and repeat this step on the other front wheel.

    • 4). Raise the front of the car with the hydraulic jack and remove the jack stands. Lower the car gently to the ground. Tighten the lug nuts on your front wheels. Loosen the lug nuts on your rear wheels. Raise the back of the car up with the hydraulic jack and put jack stands up under the rear jack points. Lower your vehicle slowly with the hydraulic jack until it comes to rest on the jack stands.

    • 5). Open the trunk or hatch of the vehicle and remove the trunk lining so that you have access to the shock assembly. Note that you won't be reinstalling the trunk lining when you are finished, as it is added and unessential weight for your drift car.

    • 6). Remove the rear wheels and tires. Remove the bolt for the rear shock assembly, located behind the break caliper. Find the top of the rear strut assembly in the trunk and loosen the bolt. Remember to hold the shock assembly as you take the top bolt out so it doesn't drop.

    • 7). Put in the new coilover unit where the shock assembly was by reversing the procedure used to remove it. Put the wheel back on and repeat this step on the other rear wheel. Lower the car and tighten the lug nuts on your rear wheels.

    • 8). Remove the passenger seat, rear seats and carpeting from the inside of the vehicle. Remove any other unnecessary interior objects that add more weight to the vehicle. Practice drifting with your vehicle and adjust the coilovers to a setting that suits your driving style.
