The surfers and hippies make it look so easy don't they? Pot makes you mellow, it makes you calmer, gives your nerves a much needed break.
Or does it? It is a tricky thing, panic and it is stealthy, coming at times when you least expect it.
And once you have had the first attack, you become prone to more attacks.
What can pot do for panic attack relief? Absolutely nothing.
What may have calmed your nerves before you had panic is now your enemy.
Pot and panic don't mix.
If you want a new slogan for your life, that is it What can you do if you start having an attack after smoking?
  1. The first thing to do is get yourself some water.
    Put some hydration into your body.
  2. Then lie down with your feet propped up higher than your heart (kind of like you do when you have an injury).
  3. Breathe! Not big breaths, but shallow breaths into your cupped hands or a paper bag.
  4. Try to calm yourself, either with music or video games (but no funky brownies, unless you want to repeat steps 1-3).
The goal is to stop yourself from passing out.
Fainting can be pretty common when you mix pot and panic.
Panic 'un-fun' to say the least.
But as 'un-fun' as it is, pot can make it worse.
The same thing that makes you so mellow also makes you more prone to getting really nervous or scared at the smallest thing.
