Does Obama care about the costs of his healthcare plan? Has he taken into account the psychological costs of reducing services? Whenever costs are brought up we are told about the Fairness Doctrine.
Who determines fairness? Do needs freedoms? Let's see if I have this right, my healthcare is going to be decided by a group of people whose only apparent purpose in life is to be re-elected.
So if I promise everybody WILL have healthcare, whether they want or not, I can be seem as doing the greater good and raise my chances of being re-elected.
All this fame and not be held accountable for bankrupting the country, who wouldn't do this? All I have to do is tell everyone that this healthcare plan is so important that I would willing not to be re-elected.
This will surely convince everyone I am doing this for the greater good and then re-elect me anyhow.
Smell anything fishy yet? All I have to do is convince the seniors that it is just like Medicare, just trimmed down.
You know that program that is bankrupt.
The program that is one we have been paying into since LBJ.
That program that's financing was suppose to be protected, until Al Gore voted the funds can be used for the general fund.
Who cares that the amount of benefits and the quality of benefits are reduced.
Or that the wait time to see a specialist will kill you first.
So how can I go about convincing the seniors of this, well I can get Howard Dean to go to town hall meetings and make an implied argument that "who would want to give up their Medicare? " Let's see, the seniors are at a time when they need more medical services than ever before, so let them think we will take away Medicare and that should scare them enough to shut up.
Of course we will not throw grand ma under the bus we will just have her wait in line to see a specialist.
Convincing the college kids will be easier.
They will be so concerned about paying back their college loans that they will not have time to consider how much and for how long this healthcare plan will affect their ability to save money for their own families.
Forget about being wealthy.
Next we can offer them the ability to pay off the loans by working for the government; you know increase the tax based employment numbers.
They will think this is great, who cares that everyone else will have to pay for their loans and now their jobs and benefits.
Such a deal.
So those who can not afford college or chose not to attend will have to pay for those who do.
That works right? Remember the good old days, when you were responsible for your life decisions? You had choices to make, so you made them.
When you had a sense of pride that what you did was what defined your life.
Now the government will define your self worth.
Sit back and relax the government is here to take care of you.
Don't worry about being wrong the government will find a way to make it somebody else's fault and they can pay for it.
Won't work hard for your money let others do that for you.
