An Alternative to a Summer Job

49
Have you heard about America's fast-sinking economy? That's all that Obama and McCain seem to talk about these days, and their political speeches have more than a few Americans worried about the future. Of course, one way to avoid any risk of the American economy eating away at your profit is to venture outside the country to look for new work.
A radical idea? Not necessarily, and many Americans have found that working overseas in a nearby but still exotic location like the Caribbean is far more enjoyable thanks to its beautiful scenery and friendly population. The population is made up of both friendly locals and outgoing tourists. While some of them may speak a foreign language, many of them do speak English. Therefore, if you were to seek out a job in the Caribbean you would not be required to have any special experience.
What are some advantages of working in the Caribbean? A much friendlier base of customers, as the weather and climate in the Caribbean is that of a tropical paradise. Your customers will consist of well educated travelers, local businessmen delighted to employ an American representative, and a whole host of beautiful men and women just as fascinated with your accent as you are with theirs.
Is this line of work legal and safe? Of course! In fact, you stand a far greater chance of being attacked in a crowded mall (by angry female shoppers) than you would in a perpetual vacation destination like the Cayman Islands, the Dominica or Antigua, Puerto Rico. Legally speaking, the U.S. government has no problem with residents working outside the country. However, they will require documentation just the same, as you are still a legal resident of the United States.
What kind of jobs are available? There are a variety of positions that are open to travelers willing to relocate. These range from midlevel jobs such as office administrators and ultrasound technicians, to more general positions such as restaurant managers, accountants and waiters and waitresses. There are fulltime positions as well as part time or even temporary positions.
If you are bored of your current job, unemployed or looking for an excuse to professionally travel then you should consider the option of working in the Caribbean. It's not nearly as dangerous a place as Captain Jack Sparrow suggested. The modern day Caribbean is a joy to behold and a pleasure to work in. Your first move should be to contact an online listing company that can provide you with new Caribbean job listings and get you started in organizing your legal paperwork. Have fun this summer!
