How to Get Out of a Blue Screen in Windows
- 1). Hold the power button on the computer down for 2 seconds or longer until the computer turns off.
- 2). Unplug the power cord from the back of the computer if the system will not turn off from the power button. Remove the battery from the computer if you have a laptop and it will not power down from the power button.
- 3). Restart your computer to see if the problem occurs again. Power down the computer or unplug the power cord if the computer boots back into the blue screen.
- 4). Restart your computer again and tap the "F8" key on the keyboard as the computer starts to boot up. Wait for the Windows boot menu to appear.
- 5). Navigate through the options on the screen using your arrow keys and select "Safe Mode."
- 6). Press the "Enter" key and allow the computer to boot into Safe Mode.
