How to Re-Install Windows Live OneCare
- 1). Log onto the PC where you will reinstall Windows Live OneCare. Go to the Windows Live OneCare home page.
- 2). Click on the "Free Trial" link to install Windows Live OneCare.
- 3). Choose "Run" to allow the program to run, or click "Save" to save the file on your hard drive. If you choose "Run," allow the install to complete and restart your computer.
- 4). Open the program and sign in using the Windows Live ID that you used when you first purchased and logged into the program. Follow the instructions. If you do not remember your Windows Live ID, click on the Menu bar and select "Help." Next choose, "About Windows Live OneCare." You will find your ID here displayed after "Service ID."
- 5). Verify that the program has been properly installed. If the program has not been installed properly, run the Live OneCare cleanup tool to remove any traces of previous programs. Attempt to re-install the program again after you have run the cleanup tool. Access the cleanup tool by entering the following link in your browser: http://download.microsoft.com/download/4/c/b/4cb845e7-1076-437b-852a-7842a8ab13c8/OneCareCleanup.exe
- 6). Choose "Run" to allow the cleanup tool to run. Agree to the license agreement. Choose "Continue," and then "Clean." After the clean up tool process is complete, choose "Restart Now" to restart your computer. Proceed to re-install the Windows Live OneCare program again if necessary.
