Going Tent Camping - Here Are 10 Must Have Items You Do Not Want to Be Without
These are just a few items that we have found useful when we go tent camping.
Of course you will need the usual things like food and drinking water.
1.
Matches or a lighter is a must have to start a fire for cooking and staying warm if the temperature drops.
2.
A deck of cards is nice in case it rains or the kids get bored.
3.
Flashlight because we do not see well in the dark.
4.
Blanket or sleeping bag and pillow, just because you are roughing it in a tent, does not mean you cannot be comfortable.
You can even take an air mattress for added relaxation.
5.
Bug spray so they sill not bite you as much.
6.
A jacket in case it gets cold at night.
If it is cool where you are going the tent will help hold heat somewhat but be prepared.
7.
An extra change of clothes so if you get wet or muddy you can sleep comfortably.
8.
First aid kit, just in case.
You never know when you may get a cut or scrap.
9.
"After Bite" or another bite stick to stop the bug bits from itching.
(They really work) 10.
Heavy string or a small rope, this comes in handy for hanging wet clothes of tying down the tent.
Maybe you can use it to bundle wood for the fire.
Do not forget the skillet or dutch oven for cooking.
Tent camping can be a great way to enjoy time with your family or just get away from everyone.
If it does rain remember "do not touch" the sides of the tent, this will cause a drip that can be very annoying when you try to sleep.
