  JLG Industries is one of the world's leading designers and manufacturers of access equipment. The company offers two models in the Lull 400 Series telehandler: the 400S and 460SJ. Both models feature Lull's precision placement system. Lull telehandlers, which are also called forklifts, can be used for landing loads on scaffolds; to position steel; or to transfer loads, among other uses.
  
  

400S

• The model 400S Telescopic Boom Lift has a maximum platform height of 40 feet, 4 inches. It has a capacity of 500 pounds when the platform is extended, and 1,000 pounds when not extended. The 36-by-96-inch platform lifts to its maximum height in 29 seconds and lowers in 22 seconds. The 400S has a horizontal outreach of 34 feet, 7 inches; a 180-degree hydraulic platform rotator; and a continuous 360-degree swing. Its chassis has 30 percent gradeability in two-wheel drive and 45 percent in four-wheel drive. Gradeability is a vehicle's ability to climb a grade; 30 percent means the 400S can climb a grade with a 30-percent rise in two-wheel drive mode. Available options include a platform capacity of 750 pounds when extended; 2500-watt generator; a smaller 36-by-72-inch platform; cold weather start package; and an arctic package. The 400S has an overall width of 7 feet, 6.5 inches and has a stowed length of 24 feet, 9 inches, with a stowed height of 7 feet, 10 inches.
  
  

460SJ

• The Lull 460SJ has similar specifications to the 400S but features a platform with a 6-foot jib, which is the range of movement. It has a maximum platform height of 46 feet and a horizontal outreach of 41 feet. The 460SJ has a stowed length of 29 feet, and weighs 15,850 pounds, as opposed to the 12, 650-pound 400S. Weight will vary due to adding certain options or country standards. Both models also come with Advanced Design Electronics. This system allows a buyer to customize function speeds and options, allowing for less training time to learn how to operate the machine. JLG provides a full one-year warranty on all components for new models, which includes a five-year warranty on major structural components.
  
  

Accessories

• There are a variety of accessories to choose from for the 400 Series Telescopic Boom Lifts. An onboard air compressor can eliminate the necessity of connecting to a ground-based compressor. Cumbersome hoses from oxygen or acetylene tanks can also be eliminated with the addition of a plasma cutter. Window installers can benefit from using a glass and panel tray on a platform. JLG also has a 7500-watt generator and power cable available; there's also a 250-amp welder capable of both stick and TIG welding. And for jobs at night or other situations that require more illumination JLG offers a lighting package that includes 40-watt lights to illuminate a worksite and around the machine's chassis.
