It seems the death of Michael Jackson has affected me more than I thought it would. There is a eerie emptiness inside of me that may be a reflection of the years of superior entertainment that Michael gave me. Hearing of his passing from what was originally reported as a massive heart attack, left me feeling stunned and in some ways concerned over the fragileness of the human body. After all Michael was only 50 years old, he was not overweight; he did not smoke, and most assuredly got plenty of exercise.

As time went on we found out more about the tragedy. Evidently Michael had sleeping problems and he decided to take matters into his own hands. He used very powerful drugs, through the use of a surgeon, to help him sleep. He also took pills along with these powerful IV drugs to help him get the sleep he desperately needed. It came out in the news that he had been doing this for years in order to sleep soundly.

As the light begins to shine on how Michael Jackson died we see another case of a person who died as an indirect result of their wealth. Had Michael Jackson been a normal middle-class human being, he would not have been able to hire surgeons to administer powerful drugs that are normally only available during surgery in a hospital setting.

I still feel empty though when I think about Michael Jackson and him being gone. Even though I know that what he did was stupid and irresponsible, I still feel like we lost a legend. His music career lasted over 40 years and created hit after hit. His following of those that love his music are as big as anybody in the history of time. Yet he had a worldwide following that loved him and he would always say " I love you back".

Michael Jackson's music will certainly live on forever and when we listen to him he will bring back memories of our entire life. We'll hear the songs of a young boy singing about rock and robins and will hear the voice of an angry man singing how they don't care about us.
