What is itlike for a person to experience excruciating wrist pain?Can he or she ever return to the activities of daily living, or is this a hope that will never exist?Will surgery become a possibility if the individual does not receive any relief anytime soon?These are questions that someone make ask themselves if they are experiencing chronic issues that are not going away with their wrist.
Many will strain their wrist while others will seriously strain it, but the ways to treat them are the same.
Here are some suggestions on ways to make your wrist feel better.
One, use the RICE method.
This consistsof Rest, Ice, Compression and Elevation.
Resting consists of not using it for long periods of time.
This could mean taking a small break from the computer.
Ice it down by means of using an ice/cold pack from your local pharmacy.
Compression is to use a brace of some kind that is snug but not too tight to allow for feeling.
Elevate your wrist above your heart if it is swollen, or if you suspect that something is torn.
Two, you may want to consider using medication to help with the pain and swelling for at least two weeks.
After that time frame, this medicine may not work.
If for some reason, your condition worsens, please consider seeing a doctor for them to help you further.
Three, stay as positive as you can, and when you do feel good make every effort to exercise and take your vitamins.
By doing this, you will have the capability of increasing blood flow to your hand and wrist in order to allow healing to take place.
Wrist pain can become quite debilitating if it is not dealt with properly.
If all of these methods fail, you may have to go see a specialist, but that is your last resort.
