How to Customize Your Camaro
- 1). Remove the factory hood, using a ratchet and socket.
- 2). Install a cowl induction hood. Cowl hoods are not only stylish, but they also allow greater air circulation through the motor. Cowl hoods can be either fiberglass or metal.
- 3). Remove the factory spoiler by opening the hatch back and unscrewing the plastic hatch plate to access the spoiler bolts.
- 4). Replace your Camaro's factory spoiler with a high-rise Z28 spoiler.
- 5). Obtain estimates from local auto body shops for paint work. Base the extent of your paint job on the budget that you set.
- 6). Add racing stripes or Iroc-Z/Z28 accent decals, if this option suits your style.
- 7). Install 16-inch Iroc rims on BF Goodrich Traction T/A tires for all terrain usage. For more high performance driving, install Lightweight Centerline 5 Star rims on Mickey Thompson Drag Radial tires.
- 1). Remove the seat mounting bolts from under the factory seats, using a ratchet and socket.
- 2). Remove the factory seats and replace with racing seats. Racing seats can range anywhere between $100 to $1,500 in 2009.
- 3). Unscrew the factory faceplate from radio unit using a Phillips-head screwdriver and slide it out.
- 4). Disconnect the radio wires.
- 5). Purchase an aftermarket head unit that suits your style. Connect the radio wires to the interior radio connection, using electrical connectors.
- 6). Slide the new head unit into place and reinstall the faceplate.
