How to Make Candy Containers
- 1). Fill mason jars with candy. Mason jars are common, inexpensive household containers that many people have around the house. Mason jars come in many different sizes, from small half-pint jars to half-gallon size. Decorate them with fabric and ribbons to give the jars a whimsical feel.
- 2). Place candy in small plastic bags and close with ribbon or sticker -- these are the simplest and most affordable candy containers you can make. Give the bags as gifts or favors for almost any occasion.
- 3). Fill vases, garden pails or watering cans with candy. For large display containers, fill glass vases or garden pails with candy and place as table centerpieces or at the center of a dessert buffet table. Attach a ribbon to give the containers a more dressed-up look.
- 4). Convert seasonal items, such as pumpkins and egg cartons, into candy holders for the holidays. Carve out a pumpkin, line with parchment or wax paper and fill with wrapped or unwrapped candies. Cut paper egg cartons into 4-by4-inch sections and fill with candy to make individual Easter treat containers or fill small fruit cartons for a spring look.
- 5). Fill everyday kitchen items with candy and wrap in cellophane. You can fill items such as decorative, oversize mugs or bowls with candies and wrap in cellophane for a creative presentation. Only give new items as containers and tie the cellophane together at the top with a decorative ribbon.
- 6). Line small paper gift boxes with wax or parchment paper and fill with an assortment of candy. Place the lid on the box and secure tightly with tape and a ribbon. Place a gift tag decoratively stating "Candy" so that the recipient opens the box with care.
