    • 1). Pour 8 ounces of lye into a glass mason jar, and screw on the lid tightly.

    • 3). Pour 16 ounces of coconut oil into another glass mason jar, and screw on the lid tightly.

    • 4). Place the jar of coconut oil into the basket. The coconut oil will allow the soap to lather well.

    • 5). Pour 32 ounces of olive oil into a third glass mason jar, and screw on the lid tightly.

    • 6). Place the jar of olive oil into the basket. The olive oil will add moisturizing elements to the soap.

    • 7). Pour 16 ounces of distilled water into a fourth glass mason jar, and screw on the lid tightly.

    • 8). Place the jar of water into the basket. The water will be used in combination with the lye.

    • 9). Place soap molds into the basket. You can use individual soap molds or a long block mold so bars can be sliced.

      Place bottles of different essential oils into the basket. Essential oils are added into the soap mixture for scent.

      Place two meat thermometers into the basket. One thermometer will be used to measure the temperature of the lye water, and one thermometer will be used to measure the temperature of the oils.
