How to Make a Bootable Startup Disk
- 1). Click on the "Start" button located in the lower left-hand corner of your screen.
- 2). Select "Settings." A menu will appear.
- 3). Click "Control Panel." The Control Panel window will open.
- 4). Double-click on "Add/Remove Programs."
- 5). Select the "Startup Disk" option.
- 6). Select "Create Disk." A request for you to insert your Windows CD-ROM will appear onscreen.
- 7). Place your Windows 95, 98 or ME CD-ROM into the CD drive.
- 8). Insert your blank, formatted floppy disk into the floppy drive. Allow the computer to copy the startup files to your floppy disk.
- 9). Click "OK" when the computer is done copying the files.

Label and write-protect your newly created bootable startup disk. (To write-protect the disk, turn the disk over so the label is facing down and the rectangular metal portion of the disk is pointed down to the ground. Slide the small plastic tab that is located on the upper left-hand side so that you can see a hole.)
