How to Make Miniature Cushions
- 1). Cut two 2 1/2-inch squares of fabric. This will make a 1 1/2-inch square cushion. In a standard 1:12 scale doll house, this will look like an 18-inch square cushion.
- 2). Set your sewing machine to sew a straight stitch with the smallest possible stitch length.
- 3). Place the two squares of fabric together with the right sides touching. Sew around the square 1/2 inch from the edge. Leave a 1-inch opening in the middle of one side for turning.
- 4). Trim the seam allowances, the fabric that sticks out beyond the seam, to 1/4 inch. Clip the corners by cutting off the seam allowances at a 45-degree angle. Cut close to the seam, but do not cut the seam.
- 5). Turn the pillow right side out. Use a skewer to push the corners out straight.
- 6). Stuff the pillow with a bit of cotton or stuffing and sew the opening closed.
