The 10 Commandments List? A Brief Explanation

5
Keeping the commandments is a hard task especially if you don't know what to do.
When I speak of Commandments, this immediately puts people off.
Unfortunately this is the term that has been used to describe the teachings in the Bible.
The truth is, the word "law" has been translated from the word Torah.
A more accurate translation, would have been teachings.
When we understand, what the Bible is really talking about, it becomes easier to follow it.
The ten Commandments list is found in Exodus chapter 20.
These are basically the summary of a spiritual constitution.
In total there are over 600 different laws found in the bible, that can be kept.
These laws include, things such as what we should be eating, what we should be wearing, and our general everyday conduct.
Misunderstandings surrounding the Bible, involve, people thinking there has been a doing away of the (laws) teachings of the Bible.
Many have said, that because Christ died, we no longer need to keep Commandments.
In theory this may sound like a good argument, but if this was so it would be okay for a man to sleep with another man's wife, or for a man to steal or for a man to murder.
It is obvious that these things are not permitted.
When we read the commandments we will find that these same things are a part of them.
Once we understand, that the commandments in the Bible, have been given to us from God, we begin to understand they are designed for our best interest.
Yes, it is true that keeping commandments is not natural, as the Bible explains we war against principalities and spiritual wickedness, which attempts to tempt us into doing what God dislikes.
The great thing about understanding the commandments and keeping them, are the rewards that we will receive if we endure to the end.
This involves the gift of eternal life.
This means, when the Christ comes back we will rule with him, in a government on earth which is never ending.
This information is found in the book of Revelations.
There are many more wonderful teachings in the Bible, for instance how to treat people, including slaves, your wife, your children and much more.
It should be noted, that the words slave in the Bible was more synonymous with the word servant, and slaves were never treated as they were during the trans- Atlantic slave trade.
All this being said, it is your responsibility to read the Bible for yourself, as it clearly explains.
(2 Timothy 2:15).
Have a great day!
