How to Install Car Speakers on a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix
- 1). Slide the tip of a small screwdriver under the two plastic screw covers in the space under the door handle and pry them off. Loosen and remove the Torx T30 screws located behind them.
- 2). Insert a panel tool around the edges of the door panel and pry outwards to release the door clips. Lift the door panel up and off of the door.
- 3). Remove the four screws holding the speaker in place. Pull the speaker out of the door. Grasp the connector on the back and pull it off.
- 4). Plug the connector into your new speaker. Put the speaker into the door and secure with the screws.
- 5). Place the panel back on the door and reassemble the door.
- 1). Pull on the rings under the front edge of the bottom seat cushion and pull the cushion out of the car.
- 2). Remove two 10 mm nuts and two 18 mm nuts from under the lower edge of the seat-back cushion. Pull the cushion out of the car.
- 3). Pull out the three circular retaining clips at the front edge of the rear deck. Slide the rear deck panel forward and out of the car.
- 4). Loosen and remove four Phillips screws holding the speaker in place. Pull the speaker out. Grasp the connector on the back and pull it off.
- 5). Plug the connector into the new speaker. Place the speaker into the opening and screw it in place. Reassemble the interior by reversing the steps.
