How Can I Make a Boot Disk?
- 1). Insert the blank disc or flash drive. You do not need to format any disk, so click the "X" button to cancel the popup window that offers to format the DVD or CD, if you choose this media for the boot disk.
- 2). Click the Windows "Start" button. Click "Control Panel." Click the "System and Security" main section. This opens a list of system and security options for Windows. Click the link labeled "Back up your computer." This link opens a main backup window.
- 3). Click the link named "Create a system repair disc." The link opens a new window, which asks you for the location of the disc. Select the drive letter that matches the media you inserted in step one.
- 4). Click "Create Disc." The external media device is formatted, then the necessary boot files are copied to the disc. After the repair wizard completes the process, click "OK" and remove the external media from your computer.
