Volume

• There is a volume control built in to the audio cord of the PX 200-II. Its predecessor does not offer this feature. Although most audio devices have their own volume controls, this function adds convenience and boosts the range of volume settings. For example, headphone-based controls prove useful for stereo systems with poorly designed digital volume controls that quickly skip from quiet to loud.
  
  

Design

• Sennheiser updated certain aspects of the headphone design before releasing the PX 200-II model. The PX 200-II features metal supports not installed in previous models, which improve its durability. Unlike the PX 200, it also offers enhanced earpads designed to keep more external noise out. These differences are more important for people who listen to headphones while working or exercising.
  
  

Cord

• Model PX 200's cord extends 4.6 feet. Revealing a difference of about 8 inches, Sennheiser USA indicates that the newer PX 200-II's cord measures 3.9 feet.
  
  

Weight

• The PX 200-II model weighs 3.1 ounces. The PX 200 weighs 2.1 ounces. A difference of 1 ounce isn't particularly significant, but it does mean that the PX 200-II costs slightly more to ship.

• Sennheiser Worldwide released the PX 200-II in September 2009. The PX 200 initially appeared in stores during the autumn of 2002.
