No Fly, No Ride, No Call, No Track Lists - What"s It All About?
It seems that every time there was a scare from Al Qaeda more of our rights were taken away in the United States.
Currently we have no fly list, and now it looks like we will have a 'no ride list' for the Amtrak train.
Why you ask? Well, even in death Osama bin Laden seems to be scaring Western civilizations into diminishing the freedoms of all Americans.
How can this be you ask? After all the so-called wicked Osama bin Laden is no longer amongst the living, and even though they found a treasure trove of data and intelligence of potential future attacks, one even suggesting that on the 10 year anniversary of 9/11 they were going to cause a train derailment - the fear of Al Qaeda seems to live on.
There was an interesting article in MSNBC online news recently, which originated at Reuters, titled "Senator Schumer Proposes 'No-Ride List" for Amtrak Trains - Intel Gathered in Osama bin Laden Riad Points to Potential Threats" by Joshua Lott and published on May 8, 2011.
Well, that is interesting news isn't it - let's discuss this; You see, we already have the strip scanners out at the airports, and it looks like we will now have them at all the train stations.
Not that very many of us ever ride on a train unless we live in a big city, but there is no doubt that they will sell these strips scanners to the government to put them at all the train stations as well.
This is getting to be ridiculous, and I'm still trying to figure out how to get a contract with the government to sell these expensive devices and make hundreds of millions of dollars.
It seems these days we have a no-fly, no ride, no call, and no tracking lists on the Internet.
But are we really any safer? It seems to me that all we are is inconvenienced, and it seems laughable that a US Senator would suggest a no ride list for Amtrak trains.
First of all, we shouldn't even have Amtrak trains because Amtrak is run by the government, and it is quite inefficient and a waste of tax payer's money, some say the worst nightmare of waste.
In my opinion I'd almost agree with that.
Next, on one hand we are curtailing the traveling on high-speed trains, but the Obama Administration is asking that we put in more trains.
Why? If they are truly that unsafe because we have to worry about Al Qaeda, which is practically nonexistent now, then it seems like we have a lot of doubletalk going on.
Either the trains are safe or they aren't, we already know that Amtrak is unprofitable, and a financial disaster.
Here is my solution; let's put everyone on a no ride list for Amtrak and stop running the silly train that never has made a profit.
Financially that makes the most sense and it also makes the most sense for security.
In This Way, Senator Schumer can have everything he wants, budget cuts, security, and a no ride list.
Please consider all this.
