A Craft Project for Telling Time With a Teddy Bear

    Felt Teddy Bear Clock

    • Choose two colors of felt. In one color, cut out a figure eight, making sure the top circle is smaller than the bottom circle. Glue your figure eight on top of the other colored sheet of felt and trace the eight to create the outline of the bear's head and stomach. On the bottom sheet of felt, draw two half circles on either side of the top of the eight to make the teddy's ears and draw arms and legs on either side of the bottom of the eight. Cut around the ears, arms and legs to complete the teddy's frame. Use wobbly stickers and fabric markers to add details to the teddy bear such as eyes, a nose and a mouth. Use fabric markers, or puff paint to write the numbers 1-12 around the bottom circle of the figure eight -- or the bear's stomach. Attach two felt arrows in the center using paper fasteners.

    Turn Teddy into a Clock

    • Use buttons, ribbons, fabric, and puff paint to make numbers around the belly of your child's favorite teddy bear. Make two arrows out of felt and attach them with a paper fastener. Glue a small piece of felt to the back of the paper fastener and sew the felt to the center of the bear's stomach. Avoid sewing the arrows directly to the bear because they will not spin if you do.

Attach a Clock to a Teddy Bear

    • Purchase an already made felt clock. These can be purchased in craft stores or the craft section of some department stores. Decorate the clock using glitter, paint, ribbons, buttons and fabric. Use a needle and thread to sew the clock to the stomach of your child's favorite teddy bear. Alternatively, hang the clock from the teddy neck using ribbon and a hole puncher.

Make a Teddy from a Clock

    • Find a teddy bear sewing pattern. Follow the pattern directions for tracing, cutting, and sewing the head, arms, and legs of the bear. Stuff each of the pieces of the bear and sew them closed. Line the back of a clock with thick felt. Attach the head, arms and legs to the felt using a needle and thread. Your pieces should be sewn around the clock so that the clock is the bear's stomach.
