How to Draw a Gecko
Geckos are average sized lizards, living mostly in the hot areas of the world.
They occur in various shapes and colors, like green, pink, brown, and white.
Geckos are known to blend in any environment, have a rubbery texture, and are equipped with a unique adaptation feature of holding on to any surface without the use of liquid and surface pressure.
There are around 2000 different species of geckos existing throughout the world.
Some of them have special toe pads to help them crawl over indoor ceilings.
Apart from technical diagrams, geckos are portrayed as cartoon figures too.
Here are a few of the steps to draw a gecko: Required drawing tools: a)Pencil b)Paper/ Canvas c)Colors (optional) d)Paint brush (optional) Steps for drawing a gecko: The gecko we are covering is lying prostrate on the ground and looking towards the ceiling.
The steps for sketching it are: •Head: Draw a large oval with an elongated end.
Impart a dark shade to the upper end of the head.
•Eyes: The eyes of the gecko are drawn like small 'Cs' on the upper end of the oval head.
The eyes are rounded in a way that they seem to look out towards a ceiling.
•Legs: The four limbs are drawn opposite to each other.
First, put lines out at two front end of the body to depict an angular N shape.
At the other end, the exact opposite should be done to depict an angular W.
Draw two similar limbs on the other side of the body.
After the legs are outlined, draw four small circles at the end of each leg.
Extend out five lines from the periphery of the circle, for phalanges.
Finally, the N and W of the legs are made fuller near the small circles to form a proper shape.
•Body: Draw a long oval, adjacent to the head to portray the body of your gecko.
•Tail: Draw a long, wavy tail, stretching out from the end of the body.
After the outline is drawn, the gecko should be bordered with a dark pen.
Fix a pattern for your animal and draw it across the body.
Patterns are the distinguishing features of a gecko's body.

These lines have to be short and slanting.
