How to Update a Blue Jay Satellite Receiver
- 1). Ensure that the Blue Jay satellite receiver is plugged into a power outlet. The black power cable for the receiver extends out of its back.
- 2). Check to see that the Blue Jay satellite receiver is connected to the Internet. Find the ethernet port on the rear of the device and ensure that the ethernet cable is plugged into it. This port looks like an oversized phone jack for a landline telephone. The ethernet cable that plugs into this port will extend out of your broadband modem.
- 3). Turn on your TV and the Blue Jay satellite receiver.
- 4). Use your remote control or the "Menu" button on the front face of the Blue Jay satellite receiver to access the menu.
- 5). Select the "Firmware Update" option from the menu. Bear in mind that the precise listing for the firmware update option may differ slightly, depending on the exact model of your receiver or its current firmware version.
- 6). Wait as the firmware updates. The Blue Jay satellite receiver will automatically reboot at this time. The firmware update process will be complete once the reboot finishes.
