How to Install Internet Explorer Onto a Laptop Without Internet

    • 1). Log in to the computer connected to the Internet. Launch a web browser, then navigate to the "Internet Explorer: Download" web site. Click on the version of Internet Explorer you want to download (the latest is 9), then click on the link corresponding to the version of Windows running on the laptop. Click "Save," then wait for the download to complete.

    • 2). Insert the USB flash drive into a USB port on the computer connected to the Internet. A new Windows Explorer window will come up, showing the contents of the flash drive. Drag the file downloaded on Step 1 on to the Windows Explorer window for the flash drive. Click "Start," then "My computer." Right-click on the USB flash drive, then select "Remove." Remove the flash drive from the computer connected to the Internet.

    • 3). Log in to the laptop not connected to the Internet as Administrator. Insert the USB flash drive into a USB port on the laptop. A new Windows Explorer window will come up, showing the contents of the flash drive. Double-click on the file downloaded in Step 1. An installer application for Internet Explorer will launch. Follow its prompts until the installer reports completion. At that point, Internet Explorer will be installed and ready to use on the laptop not connected to the Internet.
