How to Replace a Fuel Filter on a 1984 Chevrolet Caprice
- 1). Open the hood and follow the fuel line to the side of the carburetor.
- 2). Slide the GM fuel filter wrench over the fuel line and onto the inner nut on the carburetor where the line meets the body of the carburetor.
- 3). Slide a box wrench over the outer nut and loosen the outer nut while holding the inner nut still. Use caution not to bend the fuel line.
- 4). Pull the fuel line away from the carburetor by hand. Pull the old fuel filter out of the filter cavity and dispose of it. Slide the new fuel filter into the filter cavity.
- 5). Tighten the fuel line back onto the carburetor with the two wrenches in reverse of how you removed it. Close the hood when done.
