  Holidays and special moments in life are great ideas for themed scrapbook albums. Scrapbooking allows the maker to customize the theme for her needs. Record specific memories by including special photos and journaling.
  
  

Baby Theme

• Making a baby-themed scrapbook is a great way to capture the first moments of a child's life. Once you know the gender of the child, choose an album color. Place the following items in a scrapbook for a baby theme: ultrasound photos, to capture the first sight of baby; letter to the child from his parents, to remember the emotions of this special time; a picture of the child at one day old, handprints and footprints, to track growth; and pictures of baby's first bath and baby's first holidays, to remember special firsts.
  
  

Wedding Theme

• Scrapbooking is a different way to preserve wedding memories besides the traditional album provided by the photographer. Include notes and journal entries to narrate the wedding photos. For example, beside a photo of the wedding cake, include a handwritten note describing the taste. Place the ceremony program beside a picture of the couple at the church. Include a picture of the wedding certificate being signed.
  
  

Holiday Theme

• Use holiday photos to make a themed album. For Easter, place photos of an egg hunt or egg decorating with family. For a Valentine's Day theme, include favorite cards and valentines received or the recipe for a favorite meal shared with a loved one.
  
  Christmas traditions are also great to record. Pictures of tree-decorating, kids sitting on Santa's lap, the local Christmas Parade and making Christmas cookies with Grandma are ideas to include.
