How to Replace the Fender Flares on a 2000 Jeep Wrangler
- 1). Locate the front marker light embedded in the front fender flare. There is a nut securing it to the flare from the backside. Remove the nut with a wrench, push the assembly out through the front of the flare and turn the bulb socket ¼ turn then pull it out of the back of the assembly. Set the light assembly aside.
- 2). Locate the screws securing the flare to the Jeep's body under the lip of the flare. The bolts screw into the fender from the front side and are tucked high up into the lip on the flare. Remove the bolts from the flare with a wrench then separate the flare from the body of the Jeep.
- 3). Position a new flare in place on the body, insert the retaining bolts then tighten them with a wrench until they are snug. Push the side marker light into the new front fender flare, insert the bulb socket into the rear of the assembly and turn it ¼ turn to secure it. Reinstall the retaining nut onto the rear of the side marker assembly and tighten it with the wrench.
- 4). Move to the rear fender flare and repeat the process with the exception of the marker light. There is no light assembly in the rear flare so you can skip that part. Continue around the Jeep until you have changed all four flares.
