History

• Jay Patrick founded Alacer Corp in 1972. He was 60 years old when he began production of his various vitamin C items. Patrick had a varied background, working as a chemist, writer, performer and businessman. He forged a close relationship with Dr. Linus Pauling, known for winning the Nobel Prize based on his research of vitamin C and its benefits. In 1978, Alacer Corp started distribution of its first line of Emergen-C products. Jay Patrick passed away in 2003.

• Emergen-C contains 1,000 mg of vitamin C in an effervescent powdered drink that is signature to Alacer Corp. The vitamin C is as mineral abscorbates from Patrick's own creation. The idea was to create a fast and fun way to provide health and energy. Vitamin C is a strong antioxidant, which enhances the immune system and helps overall health. Vitamin C

• Emergen-C products contain high amounts of vitamin C that are sourced from Jiangsu Jiangshan Pharmaseutical Corp (JSPC) based in China. It follows Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and meets the U.S. Pharmacopoeia of Standards. All vitamin C is held in quarantine when it reaches the United States where it is additionally tested for quality and contamination. All ingredients in Emergen-C products are treated in the same manner.
  
  

Types

• Emergen-C has 19 different flavors, from lemon-lime to cranberry. Emergen-C Blue has additional ingredients such as electrolytes and blueberry, blackberry, raspberry flavors and juice powders.
  
  

The Environment

• A portion of the sales from Emergen-C Blue goes to the Surfrider Foundation, which is dedicated to helping keep the Earth's oceans and waters clean. It is a non-profit organization in its 25th year. Alacer Corp is based in Foothill Ranch, California, and is dedicated to creating a healthy and safe product.
  
  

Ingredients

• Emergen-C has a whole list of ingredients along side the 1,000 mg of vitamin C. Each flavor has specific ingredients. Ingredients include calcium, folic acid, plant sterols, vitamins A, E and D, and zinc. Each flavor is unique in its creation, and utilizes different ingredients to support its claim. For example, Emergen-C High Calcium contains 250 mg of extremely soluble calcium alongside vitamin C and D.
