How to Make Invitations in Word
- 1). Select "New" on the Microsoft Word menu.
- 2). Choose "Invitations" under the Template menu.
- 3). Select an invitation template. (You will need a validated copy of Microsoft Word to select a template if you are using Microsoft Word for the Vista operating system.) Some invitation templates may use special paper that is not the standard-sized 8 by 11 inches. These templates should specify what kind of Avery brand paper is necessary.
- 4). Personalize the template for your event by typing in the date, time and other appropriate information.
- 5). Make sure to save your invitation. It's best to use the "Save As" command and save it as a "Word 1997-2003 Compatible Document." By doing so, your invitation can be opened on most PCs, not just ones that use the Vista operating system.
- 6). Print your invitations.
- 1). Use a blank Microsoft Word document.
- 2). Insert pictures of your choice using the "Insert Picture" and "Insert Clip Art" commands. You can search clip art through the Microsoft Word program.

- 4). Make sure to save your invitation. It's best to use the "Save As" command and save it as a "Word 1997-2003 Compatible Document." By doing so, your invitation can be opened on most PCs, not just ones that use the Vista operating system.
