How to Slow Down a Virtual PC
- 1). Click "Start," "All Programs," and "Microsoft Virtual PC" to open Microsoft Virtual PC.
- 2). Click the "File" menu and "Options." Click Performance in the list of options.
- 3). Click "Allocate more CPU time to the virtual machine in the active window" to slow down virtual machines other than the one that is in use when you are using multiple virtual machines at a time. Click the option "Pause virtual machines in inactive windows" instead if you prefer this option for delegating CPU time.
- 4). Click "Give processes on the host operating system priority" to slow down all running virtual machines when you are working with a different program on the host to slow down virtual machines. Click "OK" to save the changes.
- 5). Click a virtual machine in the Virtual PC Console. If the machine has a saved state, shut it down first by double clicking it and shutting it down. Click "Settings," "Memory" and use the slider to lower the the memory that is available to the virtual machine. Having less available memory slows down the machine. Click "OK" to save the change.
