How to Change an American Airline Reservation
- 1). Visit the American Airlines website or call American Airlines Worldwide Reservations at 800-433-7300. Lines are open 24 hours per day. You may only change your booking online if your travel is completely on American Airlines, American Eagle or American Connection, all other changes must be made through your booking agent or by telephone.
- 2). On the right side of the website home page click on the "View/Change Reservations" tab.
- 3). Log in using your AAdvantage number and password, or simply click on the "Continue" tab to enter your name and Record Locator number.
- 4). Review your displayed itinerary. If your flight is eligible to be changed, there will be a red "Change Flight" tab on which to click.
- 5). Select your new flight criteria on the change reservation page, and click on the "Go" tab.
- 6). Carefully review the change summary. This will detail any additional charges or refunds that apply. Additional charges or refunds will be charged or refunded to the payment card you purchased the original ticket with. Confirm your changes by clicking on the red "Continue" tab. A confirmation of your changes will be e-mailed to you.
