Panic attacks occur mostly due to anxiety.
The experience can be very confusing and the person feels as though he is losing control as his hearts starts pounding and makes you feel you need security of a known place, in most cases home.
Every human experiences panic at some point in his life.
Flight/Fight syndrome is a known cause to these anxiety attacks.
Some symptoms of anxiety are troubled sleep, irregular eating habits, and difficulty in concentration and panic attacks.
Panic related attacks can happen anywhere and are extremely unpredictable and they can also last for days in some peculiar cases.

 Women are more prone to these attacks than men.
Frequent panic attacks are called as Panic disorder.
Many of the symptoms which occur during a panic attack are also the symptoms of serious diseases.
There are several medications that will help make these attacks less painful and some can even stop them from occurring.
Antidepressants and anti anxiety medicines are widely used in this favor.
Natural forms of treatment are other options.
Techniques like breathing, relaxing, and imagination help persons in more than just stopping anxiety attacks.
