Cat Memorials and Picture Gallery: Katie-Kat

41
Katie-Kat was a favorite in the Cats Forum. We all saw her throught Blissfulbeader's eyes.

We lost our beloved Katie-Kat Mush Princess today?just one week before her 17th birthday, and 2 years minus one day after her best buddy, Puditat, passed over. They are together again.
She had lost a lot of weight and her organs were shutting down. It was just time to say good-bye.

We adopted Katie-Kat from a very bad woman who had bred her and taken her away from her mother too early just for the money she could get by selling the kittens.

She was a very sick little baby with every parasite and infection it?s possible for a kitten of 4 weeks to have. She didn?t even know how to eat when we brought her home. The vet at the time told us she might not live 2 weeks.

She taught us all about living in spite of the odds. She survived and thrived after bladder surgery in 2002. Two years ago, we were also told she would be leaving us soon due to kidney failure after being on strong medications for a mysterious intestinal infection, but she hung in there.

She welcomed many furry little newcomers into our home with a loving and motherly attitude, and was always willing to share her warm spot in front of the fire, or her favorite spot on a sunny windowsill ?as long as they didn?t touch her tail. She never liked to have her tail touched?. but she so loved to be loved and pampered. She never met a human she didn?t like.

Katie was the first of our 9 fur-kids and taught us how to care for cats and how to love cats. More importantly, she taught us about how wonderful it is to be loved by a cat.

Katie?s love and empathy was limitless. She was my best buddy during a time of struggle in my life, and she was always at my side through recuperations?purring me back to health. She comforted us when we had to say goodbye to other kitties. She made us laugh when we needed laughter in our lives. She was a constant in our lives since shortly after we met. She has always been ?our Princess?.

Katie-Kat?s loving nature and strong will to live have given us ample reason to celebrate her life with joy. We are so honored and grateful to have shared our lives for so many beautiful years with Katie-Kat, and even though she is gone from our home, she will always live on in our hearts and in the hearts of those whose good fortune it was to know her. She lived a good life.

We held her as the last breath left her body, and she peacefully slipped away at 10am on January 21, 2006.
