How to Remove New Paint
- 1). Scoop up as much of the wet paint as you can as quickly as possible using a putty knife or scraper.
- 2). Dab the paint with paper towels, cloths or newspapers. Do not wipe, especially if the wet paint is on carpet or some other type of fabric. Soak up all the paint you can by using towels or newspaper.
- 3). Mix a large amount of common dish detergent into a bucket of hot water.
- 4). Pour some of the soapy water onto the area with the wet paint, and begin scrubbing the paint with a stiff-bristle scrub brush. If you wish, you can also soak a clean cloth in the soapy water and attempt to wipe away the paint, saving the scrub brush for the more stubborn areas.
- 5). Scrub the area until all the wet paint has been removed. Once you're satisfied with the job, rinse the area with cold water and allow it to air-dry.
