• When beginning to play the game, focus on building up your funds to purchase more eggs, medicine, equipment and plants. Once you have a few breeding fish, identify breeding combinations that sell for higher dollar amounts. For example, Golden Goldbulbs (Greenfin Fatfish plus Pink Betta) sell for around $30 each, and Speckled Leaffish (Twin-Fin Fruitfish plus Orange Spotanus) sells for $50. These fish are simple to breed and will help bring in much needed funds.
  
  

Medicine

• Do not spend all your money on purchasing eggs and equipment for the aquarium. Always save funds back to purchase medicine when needed. It can be disheartening to watch all hard work and pairings die without being able to purchase the medicine that can save the fish and hours of development.
  
  

Using Your Money

• Before trying to breed all the magical combinations, invest in research and other items so that once you breed magical fish you can keep them alive. The first purchase should be a second tank, which will allow for more breeding. Use funds in research for food, equipment, environment and advertising. Other items to add to the tank include heaters, aerators, snails, seahorses and magical plants, which all aid in keeping the fish healthy.
  
  

Fish Combinations

• There are seven magical fish combinations in "Fish Tycoon." Once you have these magical fish, make sure that the tank always has two of them for breeding. If your goal is to make lots of money, breed only magical fish once you have them. The magical fish are created through chains of breeding that must be followed exactly.
