How to Replace the Keyboard on a Gateway W730-K8X Laptop
- 1). Turn off your Gateway W730-K8X and remove the power cord and battery.
- 2). Pry up the keyboard bezel above your keyboard with the flat-head screwdriver. The keyboard bezel is a small, thin plastic piece, and this will expose the keyboard's screws.
- 3). Remove the plastic screws from your keyboard, then disconnect the data cable.
- 4). Remove your broken keyboard.
- 5). Connect the data cable in your new keyboard to the same port where you removed the old one.
- 6). Place the keyboard in your Gateway W730-K8X and replace the screws and keyboard bezel.
