    • 1). Make your play list. Before you begin to burn your CD, you must first decide which songs you want to make into a whole CD. You can either pick a variety of songs or select the songs from one CD to burn onto a blank CD. Put the songs in the order that you want them to appear on your CD in your "Now Playing" list.

    • 2). Open Windows Media Player. Using your start menu, find the Windows Media Player program and open it in order to start burning.

    • 3). Add songs to your burn list. Click on your "Now Playing" list to open up the list with the songs you want to burn. Click on the "Burn" list and transfer your songs to this list by dragging the songs.

    • 4). Check the amount of time for each of your songs. Most blank CDs hold about 80 minutes worth of music, so make sure you don't go over this time. If you have too many songs on your list, right click on the songs to remove them.

    • 5). Insert your blank CD into your CD drive on your computer if it's a laptop or into the separate hard drive if you have a desktop. Use a CD-R for your blank CD. Close the CD drive.

    • 6). Start your burn. Click the "Start Burn" button at the bottom of the list and make sure that "Audio CD" is selected from the drop down box.

    • 7). Finish your CD. After all of the songs have been burned onto the CD, eject the CD and listen to your very own custom-made burned CD.
