Ready for Something New? Try this Tamarind Margarita, You"ll Love it!
I received this recipe while visiting the Sauza Tequila distillery and immediately fell in love with the flavor combination. The tamarind is a sweet and sour fruit with a unique flavor and here it is accented by rimming the glass with chili pepper.
The bartender at Sauza rimmed the glasses Tajin Fruit Seasoning and not only is it great for this purpose, it is handy to store in the cupboard to sprinkle on fruits, popcorn or anytime chili powder is called for. Cinnamon sugar is another great rim for tamarind drinks.
For the orange liqueur, I would go with Cointreau or another high-end triple sec. Whatever you use in your favorite margaritas, use here, but don't skimp on quality.
While I was originally introduced to this drink in the frozen form, it is also excellent shaken and served on the rocks. Simply pour the ingredients to a shaker, shake well, and strain over ice.
Try the Tamarind Margarita for a nice change of pace, something unique and extraordinary. It may soon become a favorite of yours as well.
