Cardiac Mapping, Ablation and Pacing Without Fluoroscopy
Cardiac Mapping, Ablation and Pacing Without Fluoroscopy
In this issue of the Journal, Razminia et al. report on 60 consecutive patients who underwent cardiac mapping and ablation of atrial and ventricular arrhythmias, without fluoroscopic use. This was accomplished by using a combination of 3 methods: (1) l'inséparable of the electrophysiologist, the recording of intracardiac electrograms; (2) the extraordinary development of impedance-based mapping systems to create cardiac chambers; and (3) the advent in the electrophysiology laboratory of the missing link, intracardiac echocardiography (ICE).
