How to Use Fabric Softner to Remove Wall Paper
- 1). Mix together one capful of fabric softener and one quart of water in a spray bottle.
- 2). Spray one section or one strip of wallpaper with the fabric softener mixture. Saturate the wallpaper, paying close attention to the edges and seams.
- 3). Wait 20 to 40 minutes for the fabric softener to penetrate and loosen the glue.
- 4). Peel away the top edge or side of the wall paper from the wall. Use a scraper as necessary to break the seal between the paper and the wall.
- 5). Pull the wall paper slowly but firmly, continually pulling and scraping as needed until the strip or section is removed.
- 6). Repeat Steps 2 through 5 on each section or strip of wall paper until all of the wall paper is removed.
