Let"s Talk About Canines - Teeth That Is

11
Have you ever had it? Of course you have and so have I.
It's that non-stoppable, unable to think, blinding, throbbing toothache that only a dentist can fix.
Your pets get them too and since this is pet dental month it's time to get you pets teeth checked and here's why.
  1. It's cheaper to do it now before their teeth go bad.
  2. Less painful for you and you pet.
  3. No bad breath.
  4. No bad health due to bad gums.
Here's what plaque is.
Plaque is a soft deposit on the teeth, it consists of large amounts of bacteria with food particles, proteins and cellular debris.
The bacteria produce inflammation and infection, leading to gum infection (gingivitis), abscesses, and eventually tooth loss.
Additionally, these bacteria can enter the bloodstream and colonize the heart valves and or the liver, leading to larger health complications.
Doesn't sound too good does it.
There are plenty of dental aids on the market and plenty of gadgets for your pets to chew on to help prevent the volcanic explosion your wallet will feel when the Veterinarian says he needs to pull a few teeth.
There are products made to sprinkle on your pets food made from seaweed that softens plaque so it can be brushed away, sprays to help loosen plaque and pet toothbrushes.
It's an ongoing battle and does not mean that a regular veterinary check-up should not be done.
On the contrary, it is always a good idea to have regular Veterinarian check-ups and of course see what they say about any new product you are going to give your furry family member.
I for one will try anything to keep away the bad breath and tooth decay because I've already been through the, empty your wallet, phase.
You've spent enough on your handicapped dog, don't add more to the already huge bill.
