How to Remove a Stock CD Player
- 1). Raise the vehicle's hood and loosen the bolt on the negative battery cable clamp with the adjustable wrench. Remove the cable from the negative battery terminal, and move it away from the battery terminal. Move to the inside of the vehicle.
- 2). Remove the dashboard panels, and any other obstruction between you and the stereo bracket. Consult the repair manual for exact procedures to remove the stereo from your vehicle's dashboard. Use the trim panel removal tool to pry the panels from the dashboard.
- 3). Remove the screws or bolts that secure the stereo into the dashboard dock with the screwdriver or socket and ratchet.
- 4). Slide the CD player from the dock far enough so that you can reach the wiring connectors plugged into the rear of the unit.
- 5). Disconnect the stereo wiring connectors and antenna cable lead from the back panel of the CD player. Check the repair manual to see if there are special mechanisms that need to be engaged before pulling the cables from their connections on the CD player's rear panel.
