Removal

• 1). Wrap the blade side of a flat-head screwdriver with a layer of duct tape.
  
  
• 2). Pry around the perimeter of the radio and climate-control bezel with the flat-head screwdriver to disengage its retaining clips. Pull the bezel forward and pull the wiring harness from the rear of the cigarette lighter.
  
  
• 3). Look on both sides of the radio – left and right – and find the two holes on either end, these are the radio removal tool locator holes. Insert the straight ends of two Ford radio removal tools about an inch into the locator holes.
  
  
• 4). Hold outward pressure on the radio removal tools to depress the radio-retaining tabs and pull the tools toward the rear of the F-150 until the retaining tabs clear the dashboard. Once the tabs clear, grab the radio and slide it from the dashboard just enough to access the wiring on the rear of it.
  
  
• 5). Press and hold the unlocking button on the radio’s wiring harness and pull the harness from the rear of the radio. Pull the antenna wire from the rear of the radio and remove the radio from the F-150.
  
  

Installation

• 1). Plug the antenna wire into its receptacle on the rear of the radio and plug the wiring harness into its receptacle until it clicks into place.
  
  
• 2). Slide the radio and wiring into the dashboard chassis until you hear the radio-retaining clips click into place, locking the radio in the dashboard chassis.
  
  
• 3). Plug the wiring harness into the rear of the cigarette lighter and line up the clips on the rear of the radio and climate-control bezel up with the slots in the dashboard around the radio. Press the bezel onto the dashboard until the retaining clips snap into place.
